How are interns selected?
A selection committee, composed of representatives from partner organizations, conducts skills assessments and interviews to identify candidates.
Do I have to apply?
Yes. An application must be completed prior. Applications open during January and must be submitted before February.
Do interns get paid?
Yes! While most Project SEARCH sites are unpaid internships. We offer a monthly stipend to interns in the program.
Do I get to choose my internships?
The intern’s choice is one of the driving factors that determine their internship placement. We combine their choice along with availability of the internship and the interns’ skills to try and create the perfect fit! However, there is potential they may not get the internship they prefer.
What internships are available?
Interns will participate in up to three 10-week internships. We have had interns in Guest Services, Pharmacy, Laundry, Strategic Marketing & Communications, Human Resources and more! Interns gain the opportunity to work in a variety of different departments to learn skills and to find the career path that best fits them.
Can I change my internships?
The intent of the Project SEARCH program is to grow, stretch and learn new skills. In the rare event that internship is not the right fit for the intern or department a change can be made following a meeting of partners involved.
